What This Is

"Just start" is the most common piece of advice given to people with ADHD. It is also, neurologically speaking, the least useful.

Task inertia — the difficulty of initiating a task — is not a motivation problem or a discipline problem. It is a wiring problem. The intention-activation gap in the ADHD neurotype is wide. The brain knows what needs to happen. The engine just won't catch.

This walk-through was built to close the gap between knowing and understanding. Not a handout to read. Not a slide to absorb. An experience to move through — one that puts the user inside the clinical framework rather than outside it looking in.

Four Phases. One Walk-Through.

Phase 1 — Two Ignitions: Feel the difference between how a neurotypical brain starts and how an ADHD brain tries to. The intention-activation gap, made visible.

Phase 2 — Warning Lights: Eight reasons a brain won't start, each one clickable. Not one reason — eight. And they often stack.

Phase 3 — What Actually Works: Five real strategies from the Au+DHD KnowledgeBase — Bait & Switch, This or That, Feasibility Check, Scaffolding, and Reframe Lexicon. Interactive and tappable.

Phase 4 — Repair Kit: A personalised summary the user can take away, built from what they explored.

TRY IT BEFORE YOU BUY

The full walk-through is free to explore before you purchase — no login required.

Move through all four phases: feel the difference between a neurotypical and ADHD brain trying to start a task, explore the eight warning lights, tap through five real strategies, and build a repair kit. The full experience is there — nothing is paywalled in the preview.

PURCHASE THE HTML

What you're purchasing is the HTML file itself: yours to host, embed, adapt, and use in your own clinical, educational, or creative setting. The live URL stays live, but it belongs to Au+DHD. The purchase gives you the code.

Who This Is For

— Clinicians and therapists explaining task inertia to ADHD clients or their families — Educators building neurodivergent-affirming classroom experiences — Developers and creators embedding psychoeducation into their own platforms — Anyone with basic HTML knowledge who wants a clinically-informed tool without building from scratch

Technical note: Buyers need basic familiarity with HTML files — the ability to open, host, or embed a .html file in their setting. The AI adaptation guide (included) assumes no deeper coding background.

What's Included

— The full walk-through HTML file — self-contained, ready to open in a browser, host on your platform, or embed in your site — A step-by-step guide for using AI tools (like Claude) to redesign and personalise the walk-through — A use license — one price, all use cases covered

The live preview at interact.auplusdhd.com is free and is not part of the purchase. It exists so you can experience the product before buying.

A Note on Language

The terms used throughout this walk-through are drawn from the Au+DHD Reframe Lexicon — a neurodivergent-affirming language framework developed by Ms. T (Tahirat Nasiru, LCSW) that replaces deficit-based clinical language with descriptions that reflect how neurodivergent people actually experience their own brains.

These terms are not decorative. They are intentional. Language that removes shame changes what a person does with the information they receive about themselves. We highly recommend keeping them in your adaptations.

License

Personal, clinical, educational, and commercial use are all included. You may adapt and personalise the file using the included guide. Resale of the original or adapted files is not permitted.

Individual clinicians can access a discount via proof of licensure or Clinician Circle membership. Contact hello@auplusdhd.com to apply.

WANT TO SHARE WITHOUT PURCHASING?

You don't need to buy anything to share this resource. The free version at the link above is designed to be passed on — to a parent before a session, a manager before a meeting, a teacher new to neurodivergent practice.

If you find it useful in your work and want to embed it, adapt it, or use it as the foundation for your own tools, that's when the purchase makes sense.
